 I had a look into the source and did some crude changes to the layout that
 indicate more or less the kind of layout I have in mind. Changed
 pidgin/gtkmedia.c is attached.

 I am no developer and do not have an IDE ready. Actually this is the first
 time I tried layouting a GTK window.

 If this change is generally accepted could someone with real developing
 skills please finish the layout change is propose?

 In my version menubar need to be fixed (put on top again:), monitor video
 has to bottom-aligned, and, as proposed, I think volume slider would both
 fit in well above the monitor window when adding a label for send and
 receive volume.
