 Actually I receive a file containing 136 byte of HTML-code:

 I can successfully ping relay.msg.yahoo.com. In the account preferences
 there is filetransfer.msg.yahoo.com which I can also ping successfully.

 In June I got a file from the very same person. Since then there might
 have been updates to my and his Version, but it's still the same setup him
 using the official client and me with pidgin under Kubunutu. We both
 restartet our computers to no avail.
