 Hi,

 Just an update... I never run Pidgin under normal circumstances as a root.
 I just ran it as a root while debugging from the console.
 Anyways, as per the suggestions, I have switched over from the packman
 repositories to OpenSuse-11.3-OSS repositories for the below mentioned
 packages and Pidgin now works fine...
