 I have several IM contacts that are grouped. For example, suppose I have
 IM contacts X, Y, Z, each from different IM networks. I have dragged and
 dropped Y and Z onto X. What I end up is a meta-contact I'll call M that
 has the same name as X. If I right-click on meta-contact M and select
 '''Expand''', now I see X, Y, and Z below M.

 Here's the problem: if I right-click on M and select '''Show When
 Offline''', Pidgin only applies this property change to X. If I want the
 same change to apply to Y and Z, I have to expand M and then individually
 apply that change to Y and Z.

 What should happen: Any change to M should apply to all of M's items. In
 the above example, when I right-clicked on M and selected '''Show When
 Offline''', that property should have been set on X, Y, ''and'' Z. To do
 otherwise means a confusing UI.
