Comment:

 The default dictionary is the language in which Pidgin is running.

 It is odd that "da_DK" is initially selected in the Languages menu, but
 that is a GtkSpell issue, not a Pidgin issue.

 I'd be interested in seeing the debug log from the initial window opening
 through when you re-select da_DK.
