 pidgin ships with a Log Reader plugin which does exactly this sort of
 thing. It allows pidgin to read the existing logs of other clients. The
 plugin appears to support QIP though whether it supports that version of
 QIP I have no idea. If it doesn't I'm certain a patch would be welcome to
 fix that.

 Note: The plugin does not *import* the logs, they are read from the
 location they were originally stored at and so cannot be deleted or they
 will be lost. A plugin/program to import the logs is possible but, to my
 knowledge, does not exist.
