Comment:

 By default pidgin honors incoming font formatting on messages. There is an
 option in the preferences to ignore incoming formatting. If you enable
 that option the incoming messages will be displayed in the default
 interface/document font that pidgin/GTK+ has configured. If that font is
 not what you want you can either change that font (via your gtkrc file or
 desktop configuration system) or disable the "Use font from theme" option
 and manually set a conversation font in the pidgin preferences.
