I use wireless at home. I normally put the computer in standby instead of
 shutting down.
I use a docking station at work. When I resume the computer and it's using
the wired Ethernet connection, pidgin will crash while reconnecting.
I've only seen this happen when going to standby on wireless and waking up
 on wired.

This also happens if the computer has been hibernating.
