 That backtrace doesn't include any more information unfortunately and
 still doesn't include any mention of pidgin. Does pidgin crash when it
 starts or when accounts sign on? Does 'pidgin -n' start correctly?

 Get the output from running 'pidgin -d' leading up to the crash and we can
 see if that gives us any insight into the problem.

 You can also, if you want, try moving your .purple directory aside (don't
 delete it) and seeing if pidgin starts correctly at that point.
