Comment:

 Well, basically, I have tried to do the backtrace but, when Pidgin
 crashes, a small window pops up saying "... not responding", with Close
 and Force Quit buttons, and basically everything in GDM stops working. I
 have to restart GDM from console to make it working again. This way I
 cannot type "bt full" to the gdb.

 In the pidgin-backtrace.log this is the only usable information:

 "Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
 0x0000000000456c88 in ?? ()"
