 I can totally understand the whole thing about compatibility etc. but
 there is something wrong there. I am not pidgin/gtk expert but for sure
 there is a problem in the code, even if it is just an argument that
 may/should not be used.

 Just put it in a TODO list for the API change in pidgin 3.0
