New description:

 It seems to happen only in msn/gtalk or any other protocol that supports
 animated gifs such as this one.

 It causes a lag like situation where my messages aren't shown until i send
 another one. Then it ends up working fine after about 10-15 lines of text.
 The same thing happens as long as i'm within the first 10 or so lines of
 text inside of the conversation.

 I don't know which component's causing this

 I also uploaded the debug file part of the msn conversation. I have
 removed the emails in it so as to protect the person who i was talking
 with's identity.
