 what do you mean by configuration files? prefs.xml? i tried it with
 deleting that one, but that didn't help
 even uninstalling pidgin and reinstalling it didn't.
 deleting the whole profile (.purple directory) isn't really a solution for
 me, i don't want to loose everything in there (keys, logs...)

 btw: im running Windows XP SP3
