New description:

 PRIVMSG/NOTICE addressed to $$server and $#hostmask, and sent to pidgin,
 and because they are not addressed to the very nickname, pidgin is
 discarding them as follows (debug window):

 {{{
 (17:50:23) irc: Got a PRIVMSG on $$swisschat.dyndns.org, which does not
 exist
 (17:50:38) irc: Got a NOTICE on $$swisschat.dyndns.org, which does not
 exist
 (17:51:02) irc: Got a NOTICE on $$*.org, which does not exist
 (17:51:06) irc: Got a PRIVMSG on $$*.org, which does not exist
 (17:51:24) irc: Got a PRIVMSG on $#*.34, which does not exist
 (17:51:33) irc: Got a NOTICE on $#*.34, which does not exist
 (17:51:43) irc: Got a NOTICE on $#192.168.11.34, which does not exist
 (17:51:49) irc: Got a PRIVMSG on $#192.168.11.34, which does not exist
 }}}

 Those messages usually are sent by opers only to any user on the
 server/network.
 These messages have been received from ircd-ratbox.

 My enhancement proposition:
   * In IRC-Account-Edit-Dialog place somewhere a check-box: Show
 PRIVMSG/NOTICE to $$ / $#.
   * When the check-box is set, the message shall be displayed in a new
 tab, titled with the senders Nickname (those messages always contains the
 senders Nickname, analogue to /msg myverynick text, or /notice myverynick
 text, pidgin would open a private tab).

 Thanks for adding this feature/enhancement.

 Yours sincerely

 Lorenzo Pirovano
