 I just encountered this problem with Pidgin 2.6.5 (which happily worked
 until today), but disabling the "Use clientLogon" setting didn't help.
 After doing it, the debug window lists "oscar: Username sent, waiting for
 response" and that was it. Even after 25 minutes now it hasn't progressed
 any further...
