 I can't recreate this.  In my case, the URL is pasted (a URLEncoded form
 of it:
 http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A2%D0%B5%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%80%D1%82%D0%B0%D1%86%D0%B8%D1%8F).

 Which GTK+ version are you using (Help->About)?
