Comment:

 Ideally your taskbar would allow you to control this sort of thing, most
 don't however. The [ThirdPartyPlugins#Miscellaneous Extended Preferences]
 plugin can set the skip taskbar hint for the Buddy List window for the
 record, which your taskbar (assuming it is compliant to the spec) will
 honor.
