 In a conversation, messages often "overlap", meaning while buddy 1 is
 still typing a longer message, buddy 2 sends another message that could be
 easily answered with a simple "yes" or "no" - which is not possible for
 buddy 1, as he's still writing his long message.

 It would be great if there were 2 or more text input areas in the chat
 window instead of only one. This way it would be possible to send a
 message from either one of those text fields.
