#11440: MSN gets connected even though pidgin is set to offline

On my system I noticed a rather strange behaviour with pidgin. I often set
pidgin to "Offline" but leave it running for later, either because I won't
be at my computer for some time or because I will suspend the computer for
 the night.

Quite often, then, I notice one or a few of my MSN contacts (only have a
few there) listed and shown as online in my otherwise empty buddy list. At
a closer look, my MSN account connected itself somehow even though pidgin
is still set to "Offline" (see attached screenshots). Also my MSN contacts
can see and contact me. The only way to *really* be offline again with all
accounts is to either disable and re-enable the MSN account or to set all
pidgin to online and back to offline. Than all accounts are back to
offline, until MSN goes freelancing the next time - on my test right now
while writing this it took about 2 or 3 minutes for MSN to magically log
 back on...

I realize that this is not some big error, and I know that most complaints
would rather be from people not being able to connect to MSN all together.
But still, when I set pidgin to offline I'd expect it to be and remain
offline until I tell it to connect.

Does anybody have an ideas about this, what settings I might have played
with or maybe how to "debug" this? Pidgin's system log only shows that my
 MSN account logged in normally.

Oh yeah, I'm on Ubuntu 9.04, running pidgin 2.6.5, which currently is the
 latest in the Pidgin-Developer's PPA.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. :-)

 Regards,
 G
