#11333: On Windows, can't "execute" a file by launching its associated application

Comment(by dandv):

 I'm using 2.6.6 and I still can't get this functionality to work.

 In "Execute a command", I copy/pasted the path to an mp3, then I picked
 that mp3 using the Browse button:

 `c:\dandv\mp3\Foo - bar.mp3`

 The pounce is executed, but the MP3 doesn't launch. If I copy/paste the
 same path in Start -> Run, Windows launches the associated application
 (VLC).

 If I have a real executable in "Execute a command", it will work. For
 example, `C:\Utils\VLC\VLC.exe`

 There might be another problem here: how does Pidgin distinguish between
 an executable whose path contains spaces, and arguments to a command?

 `C:\Utils\VLC\VLC.exe c:\dandv\mp3\foo.mp3` also doesn't execute anything.
