 Same for me, but it's possible to get around it by using the escaped HTML
 in the search. So to search for <, you need to search for <.

 Of course then you have a second problem, which is that the log viewer
 won't jump to that part of the log, nor will it highlight the occurrences
 of that character. It seems to me that the input to the search box should
 be escaped in the same way as the logs are, but I don't know if that's
 practical or if there are other considerations.
