 Additional information, this only happens when both parties are invisible.
 The exact number of messages repeated is not consistent.

 Sometimes I get several messages to the last one sent. Sometimes I get
 only the first couple of messages, and the rest are not repeated, so it is
 not some "where the conversation last ended" feature.
