 You can now close this, I either fixed it or found a work around

    1. Go to Accounts
    2. Modify the AIM or ICQ account
    3. On the Advanced tab, clear the checkbox labeled Use clientLogin
    4. Save

 my problems have been solved but not by this ticket which sat for 6 weeks
 with no responce
