 jlsddmar: Your password is never sent for AIM accounts.  At worst we send
 in the clear an MD5 hash of your password combined with a token given to
 us by AOL.

 Everything works fine for me when "use ssl" is checked and "use
 clientlogin" is unchecked.  Can you give more detail about the SSL
 handshake failure you're seeing?
