Pidgin's preferences?
Report idle time: Never
Minutes before becoming idle: 1
Change to this status when idle: unchecked
Auto-reply: When both away and idle
Use status from last exit at startup: unchecked
Status to apply at startup: avail (this is my own user-defined
"available")
Just now, I set myself to extended away to test, and auto-idle worked. So
it must be something in conjunction with extended away. There are times
when pidgin refuses to set me to auto-away, and it almost always involves
me setting a non-available status sometime during the time that pidgin is
running. However, closing and restarting pidgin fixes the problem every
time.
I hope others have witnessed this behavior and can document the steps to
force the bug to show itself.
