 I am having this same issue at random for ver. 2.6.5 on Win 7 x64. I used
 2.6.2 for months without issue on Win 7 x64. I just did a clean install of
 Win 7+pidgin.v.2.6.5 and it has happened to me 3 times already. One thing
 different is that I am not using a background switcher nor have I ever
 used it on both installs.
