 Ahh.  Yes, I know about the Default Formatting widget.  But it's not the
 font that is in the "upper" pane of a conversation window that is odd.
 That font looks normal and reflects what the Default Formatting setting
 shows.

 It's the font that is in the lower pane -- the one I am typing into before
 I hit send that is different.  It looks like it might be comic sans or
 something like that.  When I do hit send on what I am typing it moves to
 the upper pane and the font changes to be the sans font that I would
 expect.
