#11257: XML-invalid Unicode characters kills group chats
--------------------+-------------------------------------------------------
 Reporter:  cortex  |        Owner:  rekkanoryo
     Type:  defect  |       Status:  new
Milestone:          |    Component:  unclassified
  Version:  2.6.5   |   Resolution:
 Keywords:          |

Comment(by cortex):

 As a side note: If I read the fix for #5768 correctly, libpurple only fix
 it for outgoing stuff, which means I can send a unicode-character-of-death
 to a libpurple client even after this fix, is this correct? That would be
 bad.

 I also note that purple_utf8_strip_unprintables only strips out
 unprintables, not the other XML-invalid range [#xE000-#xFFFD] |
 [#x10000-#x10FFFF] as defined in:
 http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/REC-xml-20001006#NT-Char
 I assume this range of characters would also trigger this bug.
