New description:

 I can set the icon (100x100 JPEG) as my MSN icon, and it shows up (I have
 myself in my buddy list). When I try to set it as my AIM icon, it doesn't
 give me any sort of error -- it seems as if it might have worked. But when
 I look in my buddy list at my AIM name, it's not there, unlike with my MSN
 name.

 I've also tried signing on from a different computer at the same time, to
 see if I could see it from there, but no.

 Here's the debug window output when I tried to set the icon:

 Then I tried again, using a 50x50 version of the icon. Same results... So
 I can't change my icon at all.

 No, wait... I restarted Pidgin, and my 50x50 icon shows up. So... Now I'll
 try choosing the 100x100 icon, and restarting...

 No dice, still 50x50.

 Okay, so... What's the deal here?

 EDIT: Okay so a friend of mine can't see my icon, though it shows my icon
 by my username in my buddy list... So it *looks* like my 50x50 icon is
 there, but it's actually not?
