#12290: MSN: pidgin doesn't ask for new password after login failure
------------------------------------------+---------------------------------
Reporter: naide | Owner: QuLogic
Type: defect | Status: new
Component: MSN | Version: 2.7.1
Keywords: manual login password retype |

I use 4 kinds of IM accounts: irc, gtalk, jabber and msn, and I NEVER use
the "remember the password" option in any of them, so I have to type the
password every time I start pidgin (right for me).
The problem occurs with the MSN account: whenever I misstype the password
and the login fails, it appears a subdialog (image attached) just offering
me two options: "modify account" and "reactivate". If a click the first
one I'm forced to save again the account (empty password), but the msn
account gets disabled and I had to reenable it to restart the login
process. If I click the "reactivate" option, it never asks me a new
password, just tries the same (which is somehow stored or cached). So, the
hole process is a pain: login fail -> edit account -> save it -> reenable
account -> relogin
This problem doesn't exist with gtalk or jabber accounts that ask for new
password.
Just a final thought: am I the only person that doesn't check the
"remember password" option? Is people so confident about no one accessing
their computer and starting their pidgin?
anyway: thank you all very much for all the effort developing Pidgin. It
saved my life :)
