 We have the same problem in our office. A lot of people are using pidgin
 (including me) and a lot of our colleagues are using Sametime V7.5 or
 newer. And each time they send us a file we cannot receive it. The problem
 is the same as explained above.
 So I was about to start a ticket when I see that such ticket already
 exists on V2.4.0 for more than 2 years ago.
 Now I am with latest pidgin version V2.7.1 still the problem is there.
 This problem sometimes gives me a headache to switch between pidgin and
 Sametime to receive some files.
 Hope it can be fixed in the future or at least some workaround can be
 found.
