Comment:

 I found .gtkrc-2.0 but did not find the .purple directory or the gtkrc-2.0
 file.  I deleted the .gtkrc-2.0 file.  I did a search of the hard drive
 for that file and got no results.  Shut down and restarted Pidgin.  I
 still can not see the date/time stamps.  Can you sugggest anything else?
 Also, GTK+theme was left on my PC after upgrading to 2.71.  I did a
 uninstall from Win XP.
