 Look I am telling you with absolute certainty that neither proxy server
 requires authentication.  If it did then 2.6.6 would not work because I do
 not have any credentials set.  And IE and firefox would not work because I
 don't have credentials set there either.  I can connect with 2.6.6 with no
 credentials.  I uninstall 2.6.6 and install 2.7.0 or 2.7.1 and do not
 change a single setting and it does not connect.  That clearly indicates
 the issue is with pidgin and not my proxy server settings.  Now if you
 want to continue argiung about authentication so you don't have to fix
 your broken app then that is up to you but what I am telling you should be
 totally obvious.  My settings work in 2.6.6 but not in 2.7.0 or .1.  Try
 and explain that.
