#12255: user1/user2 cancelled the transfer, pidgin-to-pidgin on yahoo
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
 Reporter: jasmine.aura | Owner: sulabh.dev
     Type: defect | Status: new
Component: Yahoo!/Yahoo! JAPAN | Version: 2.7.1
 Keywords: |
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
 Intro:
Prior to 2.7.1, pidgin-to-pidgin file-transfer on Yahoo most often didn't
work, where the transfer would just sit there saying "Waiting for transfer
to begin" on both ends, while YahooMessenger-to-Pidgin file transfers
always worked. This *seems* to have been resolved in Ticket #12213 for the
2.7.2 milestone. I just want to make it clear that this is not what this
bug report is about. Though I'd like to add that when file transfer ever
worked, since the later releases of 2.6.x, it never actually says
finished/completed, even when it has reached 100%, and one must manually
hit "stop" as if terminating the transfer, just to clear the transfer
 queue.

Now onto the new issue in 2.7.1:

 Scenario:
 - LinuxUser on Pidgin (Ubuntu Linux)
 - WinUser on Pidgin 2.7.1 (Windows)
 - Both connected through Yahoo

 Problem:
Upgrading from 2.7.0 to 2.7.1 on Windows seems to have introduced a new
bug in pidgin-to-pidgin file transfer over Yahoo network.

WinUser sends a file to LinuxUser, and LinuxUser accepts the transfer
(from file transfer dialog), and the instant result is as follows:

LinuxUser (after clicking accept) sees the message:
(00:17:35) Starting transfer of 2010-07-01.rar from WinUser
(00:17:36) WinUser cancelled the transfer of 2010-07-01.rar

 WinUser sees:
(00:17:32) Offering to send 2010-07-01.rar to LinuxUser
(00:17:36) LinuxUser cancelled the transfer of 2010-07-01.rar
