 Well, I'm OK with waiting for pidgin 3.0 to get some keyring support, but
 please, make the storing API available for plugins (or, you could also
 link directly to ppasskeeper which will abstract the password storing
 system for you).

 Indeed, you won't support any possible way of storing passwords.
 Delegating the dirty work to plugins or ppk would really help to get
 multi-platform support.
