 First of all, I have no plugins installed.

 When pidgin is open long enough, there is a sudden on set of network
 activity, both upload and download. The download is '''always''' about
 40KB/s and the upload 20KB/s. This goes can go on for hours and only stops
 as abruptly as it started.

 Now, where as most of the time this starts suddenly, on about 5 occasions
 I have been able to trigger it by blocking a friend on MSN. So the
 activity is probably MSN related. Other than that, there is no way to
 reliably reproduce it.

 When I notice that there it is consuming network resources, I quit and
 restart.

 This issue has been present since I first installed pidgin about 5 months
 ago and has persisted throughout the version changes.
