 I'm assuming you got that out of one of the source files they included in
 the ietf draft.

 The [https://developer.skype.com/silk/#head-
 74ae97c9de2c72cb7238d48f3e1c079b772d0939 SILK site] says something
 different and I'm not at all sure what the story here really is.

 But none of that matters, because unless I've missed something the
 situation is the same as I said before. SILK is an audio codec, not the
 Skype protocol, which means even if pidgin supported it (which means
 gstreamer supports it) we still couldn't interact with the Skype network
 at all.
