 Good news - when I disabled my Facebook XMPP account, the crash didn't
 happen today when I got back from lunch.  This is the first time it has
 stayed up in ages, I think it's related.

 I have a meeting in the afternoon so I'll have another chance to test this
 theory out shortly.  If it doesn't crash then either, then I think we can
 safely say it's a bug in the way Pidgin interacts with Facebook's XMPP
 implementation.
