Comment:

 Well this definitely isn't an ICQ bug.  And I've never seen a report of
 this before.  I'm pretty sure there is no code in Pidgin or libpurple that
 would log anyone out of their window manager or desktop environment.  This
 is probably either a bug in your window manager or desktop environment, or
 a bug in a 3rd party Pidgin plugin.  Do you have any notification plugin
 loaded?  I'm wondering if the long link causes the notification plugin to
 break or something.
