Comment:

 It isn't impossible to use GTK+ themes; it is just becomes a manual
 process.  I'm planning to update the FAQ with instructions how to do this
 in the next few days.

 We will no longer be distributing a system-wide GTK+ installer.

 Pidgin will use an existing GTK+ installation if it is present (and in the
 Path or has the appropriate registry keys set).
