 Hi Pidgin folks,

I currently cannot use the CentOS 5 Pidgin yum repository. I get an error
if I have the repo enabled:

 "pidgin/primary
 | 31 kB 00:00
 http://rpm.pidgin.im/centos/5/i386/repodata/primary.xml.gz: [Errno -3]
 Error performing checksum

 Trying other mirror.

Error: failure: repodata/primary.xml.gz from pidgin: [Errno 256] No more
 mirrors to try.
 "

According to a web-page I found talking about the "Error performing
checksum" error, this can be caused if your yum repository is created with
createrepo using an SHA level that isn't supported by (sigh) RHEL/CentOS.
In this case, SHA256. (Apparently they need repos created with SHA1
 instead?)

When I downloaded the primary.xml.gz file manually it did show that it
 uses sha256 in some places..

Here's the link to the article:

 errors/

 Thanks!
