 Dear readers of this ticket.

 I just want to mention that I have the same problem as mr psmith2100, and
 do suffer under the missing ability to use 2.7.0 through our company
 firewall.

 For now I am happy to use 2.6.6, but would still be interested in seeing
 it fixed so I can keep on enjoying new fixes and functionalities added by
 the fantastic Pidgin DEV community :-)
