 This started occurring after I upgraded to the latest 2.70 release.  I had
 been running the previous release (always update when prompted by the
 app).

 The RPT file (attached) shows an access violation in libpurple.dll:

 C:\Program Files (x86)\Pidgin\pidgin.exe caused an Access Violation at
 location 67cd7eb9 in module C:\Program Files (x86)\Pidgin\libpurple.dll
 Reading from location 0000002b.
