 I am experiencing the same behavior on my MSN account:
 - i don't use "remember password".
 - i enabled the MSN account, it asked my password, i mistyped it
 - "[account name] disabled\nUnable to authenticate: Authentication
 Failure" error
 - if i click Re-enable, same error appears.
 - if i click modify account, password is not set (remembered)
 - if i disable the account and enable it again, same error, without
 password prompt
