 Pidgin 2.7.0 fails to connect to an iChat (Jabber) server running on Mac
 OS X Server 10.5. Upon attempting, it immediately fails with an "Unknown
 error". Earlier versions connect to the same server without problem. The
 problem has been observed on both Windows and Fedora.

 Attached are debug logs from 2.6.5 and 2.7.0, both on Windows. The key
 point appears to be here (from the 2.7.0 log):

 (16:34:20) sasl: No worthy mechs found

 Immediately after that, 2.6.5 keeps going but 2.7.0 issues its error
 message and goes home.

 Note: Closed ticket 11924 looks to be related, but that ticket merely
 addressed the error message, not the underlying problem.
