#11788: Moved buddies in groups but grouping disappeared after exiting Pidgin
---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: jgautam | Owner: rekkanoryo
     Type: defect | Status: closed
Milestone: | Component: unclassified
  Version: 2.6.5 | Resolution:
 Keywords: groups |

Comment(by jidm):
I had experienced a related issue. It occurred to me in Pidgin 2.6.5 over
Gtalk(xmpp) protocol, and still occurs on 2.7.0
My SO is Debian testing (squeeze)
 Steps i followed:
 1. Create a new group ''Foo Bar'' (name having two words separated by a
 space character)
 [[BR]]
 2. Add new buddy ''Buddy'' to existent group ''Others''
 [[BR]]
 3. Move ''Buddy'' to group ''Foo Bar''
 [[BR]]
 4. Restart Pidgin, and see ''Buddy'' still in group ''Others'' instead of
 in group ''Foo Bar''
 Observations:
 1. Moving ''Buddy'' to another existent group ''Family'', then restarting
 Pidgin, works as espected.
 [[BR]]
 2. Moving ''Buddy'' to group ''Foo Bar'', then renaming the group to
''FooBar'' (and optionally renaming it back to ''Foo Bar''), then
 restarting Pidgin, works as espected.
 [[BR]]
 3. It seems it only happens when moving buddies to empty groups when they
are named with two or more words.
In the middle of this writting, i could finally move the buddy by renaming
 the group name.
