 I tried 4 webcams, none of which worked in my system(all identical
 crashes).  I'm guessing it's something else our systems have in common,
 like our onboard audio devices not having a control named correctly, or
 other some such problems.  Blacklisting usb-audio didn't help.  Tonight
 I'll blacklist my soundcard and see if that fixes things.
