 I'm seeing the same issue - Ubuntu maverick's stock version AND Pidgin
 1:2.7.5-1ubuntu2+pidgin1.10.10 via the ppa...


 I've tried deleting the cached certs using :

 rm ~/.purple/certificates/x509/tls_peers/login.live.com
 rm ~/.purple/certificates/x509/tls_peers/*.passport.com
 rm ~/.purple/certificates/x509/tls_peers/*.msn.com

 and restarting pidgin, but this made no difference.
