 I am getting the same issue starting today Nov 18th 2010
 My flavor:  Ubuntu 10.10 maverick meerkat with kernel 2.6.35-23  loading
 Pidgin from distro 2.7.3

 omega.contacts.msn.com certificate issue seems quite annoying.
