Comment:

 I was thinking about this a little more, and it was probably caused when I
 upgraded from an old version of pidgin to version 2.7.2. Not sure what the
 old version was exactly and no trace is left on my machine, a wild guess
 would be 2.4. I'm going to close this as won't fix.
